Signet Super Heroes

MONDAYS WITH KERRI

Our enemy, Satan, is not usually creative; he doesn’t have to be. He does what works. He uses the same tactics against us that he has employed since he slithered up to Eve in the Garden of Eden. He will put questions in our minds with the intention of making us doubt God’s love and then he will lie to us. However, his main objective is always to get us to take our eyes off of The One who created us. He knows that is all it takes to defeat us. When our eyes are not on our Heavenly Father we instantly forget who we are, what belongs to us, and the victory that has already been won on our behalf. In our minds we instantaneously transition from spiritual royalty to destitute pauper.

In order to walk in The Truth that we are loved, worthy, and will never be alone, we must claim that God, through His Holy Spirit, is always with us. His presence is the ultimate proof of who we are; it serves as a constant reminder that we are His Beloved. Ephesians 1:18-20 says:

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the wonderful future he has promised to those he called. I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people. I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms.

In this powerful passage, Paul is addressing the church at Ephesus. They were well known for their faithfulness to him and he went out of his way to visit them on his journeys and counted them as friends. Yet, here he is stating they need the light of the Holy Spirit to shine on them so that they might see and understand the wonderful future promised to them. In a very kind way he is inferring that they are in the darkness and aren’t quite getting it yet. They are deceived. He continues by telling them that he is praying that they will begin to understand the power available to them. They don’t yet understand; neither do we.

The Holy Spirit is available to us twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It is time for us to live like we remember we have the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead in us!
